Chapter 04: Hồ Huy Khang – Tiền Giang Province

In a family of five with no farmland, hardship forced Khang’s middle sibling to put aside their education so that Khang could continue going to school. The family’s main income is unstable-relying on the father’s seasonal labor (such as building durian mounds, pesticide spraying), and the mother’s work peeling jackfruit for drying.

Yet in their small charity house-granted by the local government nearly 10 years ago and now falling into disrepair-the love for learning and determination to overcome adversity remains strong in every family member.

With the dream of becoming an accounting student at Can Tho University, Khang’s journey is being uplifted by the “My Dream – Phú Nông – Making a Difference” scholarship program.

To support Huy Khang’s educational aspirations, the program awarded a main scholarship worth 10,000,000 VND, along with two brand scholarships:

Trobinplus 400SC – for leaf and panicle blast in rice

AntiOne 200SC – for bacterial leaf blight (leaf margin burn)

Each brand scholarship is worth 2,000,000 VND.

In addition, eight diligent students from Khang’s school also received scholarships of 1,000,000 VND each to encourage and support their academic efforts.

General Information about the “My Dream – Phú Nông – Making a Difference” Scholarship:
1. Broadcast Schedule:
6:00 PM, every fourth Monday of the month on Hậu Giang Radio and Television, as well as on the digital platforms of the station and Phú Nông Co., Ltd.
2. Scholarship Coverage:
Implemented across 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta region.
3. Scholarship Criteria:
Main recipient: High school students (with priority given to 12th graders).
Requirements: From poor or near-poor households, good family ethics, strong personal determination to pursue education. Academic performance should preferably be at a “good” or “very good” level.
Supplementary scholarships: For students in difficult circumstances selected by the school.
