Chapter 02: Trần Cẩm Sơn Hằng – An Giang Province

Trần Cẩm Sơn Hằng, a 12th-grade student (class 12XH1) at Chi Lăng High School, Tịnh Biên Town, An Giang Province, is the second child in a family of four siblings. Her older sister and younger brother had to drop out of school early to help support the family. Now, only Hằng and her youngest brother are still able to attend school.

The family struggles to make ends meet, relying solely on her father’s income from working as a motorbike taxi driver and collecting recyclables. Despite this, Hằng holds tightly to her dream of becoming a fashion designer so she can build a stable life and repay her family’s sacrifices.

Her story in her own words:
“Since 9th grade, I’ve helped my father collect recyclables to earn extra money to take care of my siblings, our family, and myself. It’s hard work, but I’ve never been ashamed -because that’s my future, and also the dream my father has for me.”

To empower Hằng’s journey, the “My Dream – Phú Nông – Making a Difference” scholarship awarded her a main scholarship worth 10,000,000 VND, along with two additional scholarships sponsored by trusted brands:

Trobinplus 400SC – specialized in treating rice leaf and panicle blast

AntiOne 200SC – effective against bacterial leaf blight (leaf margin burn)

Each brand scholarship is valued at 2,000,000 VND.

In addition, eight diligent students from her school also received scholarships of 1,000,000 VND each, as a gesture of encouragement and support for their academic efforts.

General Information about the “My Dream – Phú Nông – Making a Difference” Scholarship:
1. Broadcast Schedule:
6:00 PM, every fourth Monday of the month on Hậu Giang Radio and Television, as well as on the digital platforms of the station and Phú Nông Co., Ltd.
2. Scholarship Coverage:
Implemented across 13 provinces in the Mekong Delta region.
3. Scholarship Criteria:
Main recipient: High school students (with priority given to 12th graders).
Requirements: From poor or near-poor households, good family ethics, strong personal determination to pursue education. Academic performance should preferably be at a “good” or “very good” level.
Supplementary scholarships: For students in difficult circumstances selected by the school.
